As part of our ongoing commitment to Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) principles, this past year our Group placed particular emphasis on the “Social” pillar – strengthening how we support, care for, and engage with our people on shore and at sea.
Key initiatives introduced this year include:
• Employee wellbeing & support: Monthly wellbeing webinars, health and wellbeing workshops in collaboration with PASYKAF, and the launch of a Support Programme for Employees & Families Affected by Cancer.
• Family-friendly benefits: A new Nursery Care Allowance, enhanced Newborn and Wedding Allowances, and standardised compassionate leave & donations to better support colleagues during challenging times.
• People policies & recognition: Introduction of a comprehensive People Handbook, a Grievance Policy to strengthen transparency and employee voice, a standardised business travel allowance, a new Remuneration Policy, and an Anniversary Gift Programme recognising loyalty and service.
• Learning, growth & giving back: Launch of our People Scholarship Programme, along with a dedicated Volunteering Leave Day to encourage active community engagement.
• Better life at sea: Upgraded fleet connectivity to improve personal internet access for our seafarers, rollout of Netflix access, and installation of Smart TVs on board all ships, helping make life at sea more connected and enjoyable.
These efforts reflect our commitment to building a supportive, fair, and inclusive workplace, where people can thrive both professionally and personally.
Looking ahead, our focus will shift to further strengthening the “Governance” dimension of ESG, with priority actions including:
• Implementation of a Group Reorganisation,
• ISO 27001 certification to enhance information security,
• New Dividend and Investment Policies to support sustainable financial governance,
• Finalisation of our Sustainability Strategy, embedding ESG into our investment planning, and
• Transition to our new office spaces, supporting collaboration and future growth.
